An Introduction

Welcome!
Thank you for visiting my blog!
I'm really excited to be in communication with everyone at home about the things God would have me do to advance His Kingdom in the earth.

Right now, I have some preliminary details about my trip to Nairobi, Kenya:
  • I will be on my internship through Fire School of Ministry Chicago from the last week of January through the end of March.
  • I will be focusing ministry with both the youth and young adults (through age 25); as well as with ICC’s NGO, helping with economic empowerment in the community, and also serving children and adults that have been affected by HIV / AIDS.
  • Many of the things I’ve learned in the past several years, from teambuilding, program planning, implementation and evaluation, to teaching the Bible, playing music and leading groups of people, will be put into practice.
  • In our first Skype meeting, Pastor Philip Mungai explained that he wants me to not only work out of my strengths and areas with which I’m most familiar, but to put my hands to things that will stretch me, so that I can gain as much as I give during the experience.
  • I have a privilege of not only doing ministry, but living it.  Pastor Philip and his wife are opening up their home for me to live with them during my time in Nairobi.

International Christian Center:
ICC, the church I'm partnering with this winter, has about 4,000 members, four campuses, and an English-speaking congregation.  You can find out more about ICC by visiting their website:

FIRE School of Ministry Chicago:
This all couldn’t be possible without the support and leadership of FIRE Chicago.  You can find out more about the ministry school by visiting:
